Privacy Shield is one of the core features available in the TrendLife Kaleida beta, built to help protect your family's personal information while you chat with Kaleida.
What Is Privacy Shield?
Privacy Shield automatically masks your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before it's processed by Kaleida's AI (LLM). This means sensitive details you share in conversation — like names, phone numbers, or addresses — are shielded before the AI model ever sees them.
How Does It Protect My Data?
Privacy Shield works automatically in the background, every time you chat with Kaleida:
- You send a message to Kaleida — for example, sharing a name, phone number, or address as part of a conversation.
- Privacy Shield detects and masks any PII found in your message.
- The masked version of your message is what gets processed by the AI (LLM) — not your raw personal data.
🔔 Important Note: You don't need to turn anything on. Privacy Shield runs automatically for every conversation during the beta.
✅ Good to Know
- Privacy Shield doesn't currently have a dedicated settings menu in the app. If Kaleida ever suggests checking "Settings > Privacy Shield," you can disregard this — it's a known issue, and the feature already runs automatically in the background.
- Privacy Shield is under active development during the beta. Masking behavior may continue to improve as testing progresses.
- Your data overall is managed under the latest Trend Micro EULA and Privacy Policy.
