Fraud Buster is a Trend Micro Mobile Security feature that screens your incoming text messages for spam and fraud, like fake bank alerts or phishing links, before they reach your inbox. Here's how to turn it on for iOS 26.
What You Need
- An iPhone running iOS 26
- Trend Micro Mobile Security installed from the App Store
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Apps.
- Select Messages.
- Under Unknown Senders, turn on Filter Spam.
- Turn on Screen Unknown Senders. This adds a new Allow Notifications option.
- Tap Allow Notifications and choose All.
- Tap Text Message Filter.
- Select Mobile Security.
- Tap Use to confirm.
🔔 Important Note: A pop-up will ask, "Use 'Mobile Security' to filter your messages?" This is expected — Mobile Security needs this permission to scan incoming texts for fraud and spam.
You're all set! Fraud Buster is now active, and Trend Micro Mobile Security will automatically screen your incoming text messages for spam and fraud.
Troubleshooting
- If you don't see a "Mobile Security" option under Text Message Filter, make sure Trend Micro Mobile Security is installed and up to date, then restart your iPhone and try again.
- If Fraud Buster doesn't seem to be filtering messages, go back to Settings > Apps > Messages and confirm that both Filter Spam and Screen Unknown Senders are still turned on.
