As you chat, Kaleida builds memory about each family member — schedules, habits, preferences, and activities — so it can be genuinely useful over time. You control what it keeps and what it shares with the rest of your family.
What Kaleida Remembers
Kaleida derives memory from your conversations with it, not by crawling your calendar or other data independently. What it remembers falls into a defined set of categories:
- Health: appointment dates and times, symptoms or illness, medications, recovery status, diet restrictions
- Study & Work: exam dates and deadlines, school activities, achievements, subjects needing extra help, need for quiet time
- Family Coordination: availability and schedule changes, household tasks, family events, food preferences, routines and traditions
Note: Family members never see your raw chat transcripts — only AI-generated summaries within these categories.
Viewing or Deleting Kaleida's Memory
Just ask Kaleida in a chat. For example, “What do you remember about me?” or “Delete what you know about my dentist appointment.” What's possible depends on how old the memory is:
| Memory Age | How to Query or Delete It |
|---|---|
| Last 30 days | Ask Kaleida directly in chat |
| Older than 30 days | Contact Trend Micro support |
| A child's memory (under 18) | Parent or guardian contacts support |
Controlling What's Shared with Your Family
By default, Kaleida shares certain inference data about you with other members of your family group — and any member can ask Kaleida about the family's status. To limit this:
- Ask Kaleida not to share your information — you can opt out of all sharing, or just specific pieces of data. For example, “Don't share my health information with my family.”
Note: Sharing controls are set through conversation with Kaleida, not a settings menu. If you're unsure what's currently being shared, ask Kaleida directly.
How Long Data Is Kept
- Derived memory records are retained for 6 months from the date they're created.
- If your subscription expires, your chat conversations and memory are retained for 6 months after expiry.
- If a member is removed from the family or leaves on their own, their shared memory data is deleted at that point.
Good to Know
- Your personal identifiers — name, email, phone number, birthdate, URLs, ID and serial numbers, and activation codes — are masked before your conversations are processed by the AI.
- Memory accuracy is still being refined during the beta. If Kaleida gets a detail wrong even after you correct it, that's a known issue worth reporting rather than a setting you need to change.
